Our Team

I choose to work at Dig It because it’s such a pleasure to help the amazing people who come to the sessions. Especially those with difficulties. Watching them learn to grow, not just the produce we grow but how they grow themselves, come out of their shell & become more confident, sociable & happy.

We don’t just nurture the plants, we nurture the people who attend & ourselves.

Nature at its best.

Dig It is a charity that makes a positive difference to peoples lives, and it is a privilege to be part of that.

I work with special people from all walks of life and together we grow food, learn and share.

Dig It community allotment is in a beautiful setting and it is exciting to be part of a developing project.

People have always been at the heart of my work at Dig It! Since taking over in 2019, it has been a privilege to grow this wonderful charity. It is thanks to the staff, service users, partners and local community that we now have such successful projects. I am continuously amazed by how an allotment can bring so much joy, friendship and love to a community. And as our work continues to evolve I look forward to seeing the huge impacts made by our small charity and those who attend our sessions.

Trustees

“It has been amazing to be a part of the growth that Dig It has seen over the last couple of years. Growing food and experimenting with techniques, has been one of my hobbies for many years. I enjoy cooking and creating delicious meals from healthy produce. I hope to bring my corporate experience to my role as a Trustee and support the team with strategy, forecasting and budgets. It has been wonderful to see the huge impact Dig It is making and how valuable our partnerships have been in supporting service users. As we develop as a charity, I am looking forward to seeing what the future has in store. “

“I joined Dig It as an employee ten years ago and took my work boots to the boardroom as a trustee in 2017. I’ve always been fascinated by the relationships between people and plants: how we shape and are shaped in turn by our botanical landscapes, and how cultivating and connecting with our environment can help build and enrich communities. My skills and duties are fairly broad and I work in a supporting role to our more specialised trustees, linking our organisation’s history with its future goals.”

“I love being a trustee at Dig It at crocus fields Farm, Dig it is a testament to the power of community collaboration. It demonstrates that a focused partnership with community and volunteers by working together we can accomplish the unimaginable. It’s amazing to watch the impact that the charity has to all its service users and it makes me smile everyday, the allotment is a  productive green space that provides benefit to the immediate area and the community at large. It is a vehicle for so many elements of healthy body and spirit.”

“Anything that gets people outdoors is a good thing in my book.  Dig-it is one of those precious types of projects that gives so much to the people who use it.  All of these types of projects need trustees, so this is my way of being able to support such a beneficial grassroots project.  As an outdoor based small business owner I hope I can bring my knowledge of outdoor projects as well as experience from a previous life in training and managing staff who work with vulnerable clients.”
